Default Retroactive Hero System

I notice that the hero's stats and windows still come up on the menu outside of nightfall. Perhaps we can take our heros outside of nightfall to cantha and tyria? In that case maybe it would be cool to see some special quests that allow us to recruit heros outside of nightfall. For example adding a quest in factions that ends with the player being able to recruit an assassin style hero in cantha somewhere. Or how about some special heros and non human ones being scattered across the world and FOW/UW + elite missions?

I find with the updated AI, and the ability to move them around the map using the flag (aka I can pull a mob group to me and not have the war's rush forware) the npc's in Tyria/Cantha are already much better.

It would be cool to back campaign the feature.. but I don't see anet doing it.

im with eternal on this one, it would be great if anet added heros to factions/prof, but i doubt it will happen.

the reason that factions/prof chars will have the hero boxes at the top of the skills and inventory menus is probably just that anet rushed the new interface and didnt have to hide the feature on non-nightfall chars

I think that my Tyrian/Canthan chars, after getting heroes from elona, should be able to bring them to the previous continents.

Still, there's still that hench control at least.

Guys... there are two separate issues here.

1. Will ANet add quests to Factions and Prophecies to unlock new heroes in those continents? The answer is "almost" absolutely not.

2. Will we be able to bring our heroes from Nightfall to do quests and missions with us in Tyria and Cantha, as well as future continents ? This is more likely, especially given the UI enhancements to the Inventory and Skills / Attributes windows.

I think it is unlikely that ANet "rushed" the feature and simply didn't have time to remove it from non-Nightfall characters. ANet has always said UI enhancements would apply to all chapters.

I don't know if it's an indicator of anything, but I noticed something last night. The compass/mini-map has the new henchie control flag buttons in Cantha, but not in Tyria. I can't see why that feature would be available for Factions and not Prophesies so perhaps it just isn't/wasn't added yet.

I had them in Tyria. Did you have henches in your party at the time ? I am positive they were in Tyria as well because I used them on the Wilds mission.
